WCH Occupational Therapists work with babies, children, adolescents and their families with a range of medical, orthopaedic, surgical and/or developmental conditions to promote development and enable participation in everyday activities at home, pre-school and school.

Occupational Therapists provide client and family centred services that are evidence based, through the ongoing commitment to research review and program development.
The Occupational Therapy Department is also committed to engaging consumers in the review and planning of services by regularly obtaining consumer feedback. Services are provided for inpatients and outpatients.
How to access the service
Written referrals are accepted from WCH doctors, private paediatricians and general practitioners. We will let you know when we have received the referral and inform you of the likely waiting time before an appointment is made.

After an initial assessment is made a management plan is discussed with the child and family.
