Referral Information for CAMHS services

To make a referral to CAMHS, please refer to the information in CAMHS Connect. The referral process to CAMHS is the same as any other medical speciality with the exception that in addition to your referral, we require the parents/guardians to have consented to the referral so that they or we can initiate contact to activate the referral.

Perinatal Practice Guidelines

The CAMHS Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Team have been involved in developing the Perinatal Practice Guidelines. There is a specific section on perinatal mental health issues (depression and anxiety).

Link iconPerinatal Practice Guidelines – Section 8 provides information on the guidelines for managing clients with these issues. Dr Anne Sved Williams, Consultant Psychiatrist and previous Medical Unit Head of Helen Mayo House, has been the lead in the development of these guidelines. Anne has now resigned from this position and Dr Rebecca Hill is now Medical Unit Head.
